What are the requirements of the M- Beneficiary Visa?
General requirements:
Digital photograph of the applicant, document size, preferably taken in a studio (white background, 3x4 cm).
Copy of the main passport page.
Copy of the last Colombian visa (only if applicable
If located in a country other than the country of residence, provide a document proving migratory regularity in that country (for foreigners who do not require a visa to enter Colombia).
Specific requirements:
Copy of the valid visa of the principal holder from which the applicant wishes to obtain beneficiary status.
Copy of the certificate or civil registry proving marital, familial, or dependent relationship with the principal visa holder, with the necessary formalities required for foreign documents.
Written statement from the principal visa holder requesting the beneficiary visa and declaring economic dependence and financial responsibility for the beneficiary’s travel and/or stay in Colombia, including health coverage services.
Proof of financial capacity—the principal visa holder must demonstrate sufficient income to support the beneficiary by providing average bank statements from the last six months or a work certification.

The Beneficiary Visa is granted exclusively to the spouse, permanent partner, and children of a principal visa holder. Children must be under 25 years old or have a physical or mental disability to qualify as beneficiaries.
If the main visa holder loses, cancels, or does not renew their visa, all associated Beneficiary Visas become invalid. In such cases, beneficiaries must either apply for a different type of visa or leave the country.
Yes. If a beneficiary meets the requirements for another visa category (such as a work visa, retirement visa, or investment visa), they can apply for a new visa independently.
