What are the requirements of the M- Andean Visa?

General requirements:

Digital photograph of the applicant, document size, preferably taken in a studio (white background, 3x4 cm).

Copy of the main passport page.

Copy of the last Colombian visa (only if applicable

If located in a country other than the country of residence, provide a document proving migratory regularity in that country (for foreigners who do not require a visa to enter Colombia).

Specific requirements:

Passport with a minimum validity of six (6) months.

Copy of the entry stamp or migration card if the applicant is already in Colombia.

Judicial, criminal, or police background certificate issued by the authority of the applicant’s Andean Member State nationality or any country where they have resided in the past five years. This document must comply with the apostille or legalization and translation requirements established in Article 21 of the present Resolution.

Written statement declaring the applicant’s intent to establish temporary residence in Colombia and specifying the means of subsistence available for their stay.

Others as requested at the time of acceptance.

Yes, you must submit a written statement (motivation letter) indicating your intention to establish temporary residence in Colombia and describing the means of subsistence you have for your stay. Although the submission of bank statements is not explicitly required, it is advisable to have documentation that supports your financial capacity to reside in the country. 

If you leave the country for more than 180 consecutive days within a 365-day period from the issuance of your visa, it will automatically lose its validity. It is important to plan your trips and stays outside of Colombia carefully to avoid exceeding this limit and maintain your migration status.
