If you are wondering how to get your Colombian visa, the first step will be to check the list below,  if you are a citizen of any of the countries listed, you are allowed, according to Colombian visa policy, to enter the country 90 days-visa free and you can also extend your stay in the country for 90 more days online.

Also, if  you are a citizen of one of the following countries, you are allowed to enter Colombia without a Colombian visa for up to 90 days, if you already have a short-stay visa or residence permit issued by a Schengen country or the USA, mentioned countries include: 

Cambodia, China, India, Macau, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam.

VISITOR VISA (V)

Who is this visa for

The Visitor Visa is destined to those foreigners who visit the country temporarily. 

The Colombian Visitor Visa type is for those who wish to visit the country once or several times temporarily and carry out activities ranging from tourism and vacation, studying Spanish, airport transit, Business which involves events, conferences, seminars without the passport holder being employed, Short-term academic exchange program, training in arts, trades or graduate courses, Medical treatment, Journalistic work, Inter-corporate transfer, Volunteering and even for boat or cruise crew. 

Term: The Visitor Visa is a short term visa that can be issued for as short as 30 days and as long as two years, according to the recently renewed Colombian visa policy which changed in 2022.

MIGRANT VISA (M)

Who is this visa for

The Migrant type of visa is for those foreign individuals who wish to enter or remain in the country with intentions of establishing but do not meet the criteria to apply for a R type visa.

Term: The Migrant Colombian Visa can be issued for a maximum of three years and is subject to be reapplied after, this is if you still meet the criteria as when you were first granted this visa and as specified by the new Colombian visa policy.

RESIDENT VISA (R)

Who is this visa for

The Resident visa category is meant for those foreigners who wish to live in Colombia and remain inside the country for an indefinite period of time, this may be to settle permanently or to fix their domicile in the country. This visa stamp  is valid for 5 years and is completely renewable.

Term: The Colombia Resident Visa is issued for five years at a time and after this time it can be renewed, according to Colombian visa policies.
