Destined for foreign media correspondents in the country, if you belong to this profession, the Journalistic coverage visa is the Colombian visa type you would like to keep in mind. 

To apply for this Colombian visa type you will be required to submit a letter of the complete activities you will develop in the country, demonstrate solvency by presenting bank statements 6 months prior to the visa application and documents supporting your job as a journalist or correspondent. 

The duration of this visa is for a maximum of 2 years, and as stated by the Colombian visa policy it can be renewed depending on the corresponding activity you will carry out.

What are the requirements to apply for the Colombian V - Journalistic Coverage Visa?

Document size digital picture of the applicant on a photography shop (3×4 Cm White background).

Copy of your passport’s main page.

Copy of the last entry, exit or safe-conduct stamp (It depends on the location of the foreigner).

A Copy of the last Colombian visa (if applicable).

Letter signed by the legal representative of the entity or by the person who supports the application, including full identification of the entity, contact details, full identification of the applicant, reason for the trip, duration and economic responsibility declaration for the your expenses.

When the institution or company that supports the application is private and incorporated abroad, provide a Certificate of existence duly apostilled and translated.

Cash flow proof by presenting the bank statements of the Institution or Company corresponding to the three (3) months prior to the application. Public entities are not required to comply with this requirement.

Health policy with coverage in the national territory against all risks for your stay in the country.
