The National Government grants the Refugee visa as one of the Migrant Colombian Visa Types to foreigners who wish to enter or have entered the national territory and specifically qualify as refugees.
Furthermore, the Advisory Commission for the Determination of Refugee Status primarily examines the request, following guidelines from international entities on the matter.
Just like many other visa types, the Refugee Colombian visa allows you to work, study, and live in Colombia. However, it will lose its validity if you stay out of Colombia for six consecutive months.
To properly apply for the Refugee Colombian visa, note that travel documents issued by the Organization of American States (OAS) and the United Nations Organization (UN), which are accepted by the Colombian State, will be valid.
Additionally, you will require a resolution from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Colombia, recognizing your status as a refugee or asylee.
