M - Work Visa

If your case is that you have a job offer in Colombia, this is one of the Colombian Visa Types that allows you to do so legally. 

The requirements to obtain the Work Migrant Visa are based on the fact that you have a job in Colombia and you will be employed in the country. 

Also, before applying to this visa and as a fundamental requirement you will need to have a work contract regarding the activity you will carry out in Colombia. 

The Colombian Migrant Work Visa can be valid for the duration of the work, as long as it does not exceed the three-year calendar period. Additionally, it is really relevant to keep in mind that this is one of the Colombian visa types that do not allow you to stay out of the country for more than 6 months; otherwise, it will lose its validity.

Because of to the changes in the Colombian visa policy, to apply for the Colombian Work Migrant Visa type, you must prove you own a certification or diploma in the area of expertise you will perform at the mentioned job.

Additionally, some times you may be required to make your degree valid inside the country, that is, registering it to the competent authorities and asking for authorization to practice your degree in Colombia.

What are the requirements to apply for the Colombian M - Work Visa?

Document size digital picture of the applicant on a photography shop (3×4 Cm White background).

Copy of your passport’s main page.

Copy of the last entry, exit or safe-conduct stamp (It depends on the location of the foreigner).

A Copy of the last Colombian visa (if applicable).

Contract summary format established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, signed by the legal representative of the legal person hiring.

Motivation letter from the employer, stating the suitability, functions to be performed, the training that you have for that occupation, reasons for not hiring a Colombian citizen, and the number of direct jobs generated by the company.

In the case of a non-regulated profession, however, an apostilled and translated copy of the professional degree or labor and experience certificates supporting the suitability must be provided.

Bank certifications in the name of the employer for the last four (4) months, showing an average monthly income of one hundred (100) legal monthly minimum wages in force (SMMLV).

On the other hand, in the case of a regulated profession, the company must obtain the corresponding permit or license from the competent Professional Council.

Health policy in the national territory against all risks.

Others requested at the time of acceptance.
