V - Rentista / Annuity Visa

If you happen to receive periodic income from an accredited legal source, you could be eligible to apply for the Rentista/Annuity visa.

To apply for the Rentista visa, you must specifically be able to demonstrate you have foreign income (Not from Salary) higher than 10 times the minimum monthly wage, meaning you must prove an income of $13,000,000 COP in 2024.

This income can come from various sources, such as dividends or payments from a lease agreement, it doesn’t have to be fixed and can vary periodically. However, if the income comes from rental properties, the applicant must prove that they own such real estate in Colombia.

The Rentista or Annuity visa is commonly requested by entrepreneurs and can be reapplied every time it is about to expire.

Keep in mind it does not allow you to work in Colombia and it is also subject to being canceled if you happen to stay outside the country for 6 or more consecutive months.
