The parent of a Colombian national visa, is a type of visa that allows foreign parents of Colombian citizens to live and work in Colombia for an extended period of time. This visa was created to reunite families and promote family unity. To apply for this visa, the foreign parent must have a child who is a Colombian citizen, either by birth or by adoption.
The Parent of a Colombian national visa could be granted for up to three years, after living in Colombia for two years on this visa, the foreign parent may be eligible to apply for Colombian residency.
Authenticated Colombian civil birth registration of the child (If both parents are foreigners, it must contain the annotation “Valid to demonstrate nationality”).
The foreign father or mother must provide the visa of which he/she was the holder, and which was in force at the moment of the birth of the minor.
Certificate of migratory movements of the father and mother of the minor issued by the Special Administrative Unit Migration Colombia.
Demonstrate economic solvency by means of averages in bank statements of the last six (6) months, and source of income.
